finished nine patch

Oops! I didnt intend to take off like that! But Im back, and with photo treats. I finished the nine patch quilt and I am so pleased with how it turned out.

I quilted the colored areas with purple lines and left the white spaces open. The stitching on the back is white on white fabric.

And I finally got to photograph the finished Baby Steps quilt.

My next quilt for my class is the final and my teacher brought in a beautiful book on quilts from Provence to show us. Here are a couple photos that Im drawing some inspiration from

Im thinking of making a travel quilt/wrap to take with me when I go to Lacoste. The quilt will have elements of comfort like warmth and maybe fabrics from home, but a surface design relating to travel, experience and adventure, inspired by the colors of Provence.

My studio is an absolute disaster so I have to get things in order before I start working. This means that the rest of the house is going to have to be rearranged slightly to make room for some of the stuff that is bursting out of the studio space. Hopefully this will go smoothly and quickly. I’ll update soon with photos of my process!
